The RVT! Winner of BEST VENUE 2010, Fringereport.com
Yes, my little taverners, we are the champions! The RVT has finally been acknowledged as THE best venue in London, of course we already knew that, it just took a little while for the rest of the world to catch on.
Yesterday we were invited to The Leicester Square theatre to collect our award, an award which reflects the hard work and achievement of Paul Oxley and the RVT team.
Now, we don't want to harp on but this is what the award says:

Another brilliant night at The RVT
When you’ve played countless gigs with three other bands who are shit and whose crowds all leave when they’ve finished, last night’s show at The RVT was a breath of fresh air.

RVT Statement on Queer Question Time (QQT)
The management of the RVT is aware of the controversy surrounding Julie Bindel's appearance as part of the 'Queer Question Time' event. We would like to make the following points:
Queer Question Time has been organised and produced by an independent producer who is also part of the RVT Community. While the RVT exercises some discretion over the events it hosts and which producers to work with, the management of the RVT does not choose content, artists or persons associated with independently produced shows.

Queer Question Time Friday 29th January
RVT Xmas Blizzard, December 2009.
What an incredible December 2009 at the RVT, a month so packed with exciting and varied performance we are surprised the boards of the stage haven’t worn out!
The RVT was in her glittering Christmas best with even more surprises hidden in the rafters. Snow machines were loaded, the smoke machine was full and she was ready to hitch up those skirts and party with the kids straight into the New Year. (DOB 1863, but still kicking!)

The RVT's Christmas Blizzard!
Welcome to RVT's exciting Xmas season of theatre, bands and cabaret not to mention the infamous RVT Panto.
Cabaret supernova superstars; Bourgeois & Maurice, Jonny Woo and Scottee launch their outrageous new band, right here at the RVT, this one off collaboration is what glam rock is all about – Make mine a double and let the moshing begin.

Just back from SCOTT CAPURRO'S POSITION at the RVT. You have to ask yourself... how do they do it?
Have you seen the guest list for this series of Scott's chat show? It's not just stand-up comedians and drag queens off the scene. The RVT has really stepped it up! Already Scott has had BOY GEORGE, MATTHEW WRIGHT, and CLAUDIA WINKLEMAN on the show. (Even MATT LUCAS was scheduled before his recent personal tragedy.) Next week Scott interviews ALAN DAVIES and HEATHER SMALL from 90's dance act M PEOPLE. (I LOVE HEATHER SMALL!)

EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK! THE RVT: HOT AUGUST FRINGE THROWS DOWN A WHOLE COMBO PLATTER!
What a night! Mysti Valentine kicked off the fun on Tuesday night with a rollicking account of her nine husbands. Mysti’s that rare thing – a female drag queen – from Bradford! She’s got a spanking look, some great alcohol-fuelled yarns, a cracking singing voice and a great show. A bit of old-school glamour via the North-country. She wouldn’t be out of place on Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights but with a sly wink she’d be taking the piss out of not just the audience, but the provincial drag queens she mimics. It’s a surprisingly subtle act, wrapped in bombastic frock and schlock numbers.

BANDS ROCK THE RVT: HOT AUGUST FRINGE
If you've been following the RVT: Hot August Fringe you'll know that one of the things that separates us from some of the more traditional fringe festivals is that we've thrown open the doors to some of the best underground and alternative bands on the scene. Thursday night was the first all band night at the Fringe and aside from a few technical hiccups -- it went great.
