Acclaimed writer and performer Rose Collis stars in Trouser-Wearing Characters, probably the first original, one-woman cabaret-style musical show ever created and performed by a British author.
Premiered at the Brighton Fringe Festival 2012 to great acclaim, Trouser-Wearing Characters is a one-woman show, with a cast of many characters. This original entertainment, written and performed by one of Brighton’s favourite personalities, is a unique mixture of music, history and comedy. It combines stories, vignettes and songs (evergreens and originals) about some of her favourite, eclectic ‘trouser-wearing characters’, from 50s media star Nancy Spain to masquerader ‘Colonel’ Victor Barker, cabaret legend Douglas Byng to the ‘f**king lady’ herself, actress Coral Browne.
8.30pm - Nick Field
Writer and artist, Nick Field fuses theatre with a poetic twist to create evocative, bittersweet and richly lyrical performances. Warm and funny, but sharply incisive, he has taken his work to major events, venues and festivals and his debut solo show 'The Cosmos, The Cosmetics' has toured internationally.
10pm - The Dream Bears and Rubyyy Jones
The Dream Bears - body image and dancing - tonight we present a lesson in how to do it when you are hot, camp and very very hairy... come and move with the Dream Bears! Also on the bill - Rubyyy Jones.
